Rev. Blaise Fuez, Abbot emeritus
Abbot Blaise Fuez was born in Hungary and has been a monk for over 50 years. He spent many years at the Cistercian General House in Rome as secretary to the Abbot General and economist of the Order. He came to Spring Bank in 1972 and later was elected Abbot. Abbot Blaise has degrees in Psychology, Canon Law and Theology. He also is an accomplished photographer.
V. Rev. Bernard McCoy, Prior
Fr. Bernard is the superior of the Community and the Abbey Steward of Temporal Affairs and director of LaserMonks. He also acts as Vocational Director. Fr. Bernard studied at Thomas Aquinas College, and then later completed his theological studies at the University of Fribourg Switzerland and Collegeville, Minnesota. Fr. Bernard majored in Monastic Spirituality and Spiritual Direction. He also acts as the community cantor and business manager. Fr. Bernard’s personal interests are entrepreneurial business and aviation.
Rev. Robert Keffer, Sub Prior-Administrator
Before entering the monastery, Fr. Robert studied fine and applied arts and spent many years working in the hotel and restaurant industry. He completed his theological studies at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland; Collegeville, Minnesota, and the Angelicum in Rome. Fr. Robert majored in Biblical studies and is an avid enthusiast of American railroad history and fine scale model trains. He is currently a full time artist, sculpture and oil painter.
Br. Joseph Watson
Br. Joseph is a native of the Province of Quebec, Canada. He made his Solemn Profession to the community on January 6th, 2004. Br Joseph is an accomplished artist and is interested in woodcarving and sculpture. Br. Joseph hand-crafted all 14 stations of the cross (except for the marble plaques).
Br. Adam Matthews
Br. Adam is from Rochester, New York. Before entering the monastery he worked with the City of Rochester, specializing in the care of trees. Br. Adam currently manages the Abbey grounds, forestry projects and Sacred Pines Campground. He is particularly good in dealing with children including troubled teens. Br. Adam made his Solemn profession on September 8th, 2006.
Br. David Klecker
Br. David is a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota. He studied at Purdue University and has a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering/Programming. He is in Simple vows, enjoys film and theater, photography and graphics design, film-making/editing and directing. Currently Br. David is helping to design a new Psalter for the Liturgy of the Hours. He is also creating abbey videos, pamplets and vocational advertising for magazines. He also makes our religious habits and is currently studying for the priesthood. He will make Solemn Vows in the fall of 2008.
